Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Equinox LS. My car will not stay
started. At first I thought it was the battery and I
got a jump. The car stayed on and ran for
approximately 15 minutes when I turn the car off
and refused to start again. I got a jump again yet
this time the car will attempt to start but will not
stay on what could be the problem it seems like
the car is also running a little hot

I'm not sure why my car will not stay running I was not having any issues with this before today then all of the sudden now the car is having issues with starting what will make that happen so suddenly

The alternator has probably shorted out or had a wire break somewhere inside. That's why it happened suddenly and why it seems like a battery problem. If you put a new battery in or trickle charge your current one awhile you can probably start your vehicle again. It will run for a few minutes until the battery dies again. Change your alternator.

This happened to me it was the fuel pump/regulator/filter combo. Went out with zero indication there was any problems.
