subaru engine swap

Asked by GuruTJS42 Jul 26, 2018 at 08:36 PM about the 1999 Subaru Legacy L Wagon AWD

Question type: Car Customization

I've got a Subaru 99 Legacy with the EJ-223A motor and 5 speed manual. I
want to put this motor in a 2002 Outback with a blown EJ2.5 motor and auto
trans. Do you think this is a bad idea? I plan to keep the automatic trans in the
02.

1 Answer

I would not do it. If the engines were the same I might but since they are different the trouble is not worth it for such an old car.
