1999 2.2 Legacy head gasket/exhaust leak

Asked by 99Subaru Mar 31, 2018 at 12:22 PM about the 1999 Subaru Legacy Brighton Wagon AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Was experiencing coolant loss. Visual
signs of coolant leaking from hose
clamps, bleeder plug and radiator cap.
Had hoses replaced, plug and rad cap
replaced, but issue was head gaskets.
Had head gaskets replaced now I have
an exhaust leak from front part of car.
Possibly manifold or gasket near 1st
catalytic converter. Haven't had it
inspected yet. The exhaust leak may
have been there before and I didnt
notice, or it came after. Not sure, but I
definitely notice it now.
Any other complications after head
gasket replacements I should be aware
of?

1 Answer

They should have installed new exhaust manifold gaskets when the head gaskets were replaced.
