1999 Subaru Legacy. Won't start

I pull into the store shut the car off went
shopping for about a half hour.  Came out
went to start the car it started then started
to putter then died now it will not start
checked fuel pump it seems to be working
fine. Please help

Any update since yesterday? So it cranks over but it just won't run? It could be your upstream oxygen sensor.. Any chance your CEL light came on since it did this?
