Mystery Part after timing belt replacement

I am good but not so good that I can see invisible parts.

I make a list of what's removed then work backwards to put it back together , bolts go in a piece of card board with a pic. drawn to show where they go , it may sound like overkill but if you have extra parts left over perhaps you should try it .

Good tip for pros and essential for noobs.

It's the intermodulation synthesizer limiter valve bracket. Without it the system can shake itself apart after maintaining a constant speed for an indeterminable period. Try to fluctuate speed constantly.

Note that old Subies don't reach maturity at 21, but mortality!

A little more information might help us. Is the invisible part part of the new timing belt kit or an old part? What brand timing belt replacement kit did you buy or did you just buy the belt? If you can describe the shape of the leftover part or post a picture. Maybe do a google search for a blowup diagram of your cars timing belt system to locate the part (rock auto is a great source for such diagrams) . Let us know what you find.

Finally! Please note: the front has an L on it OK, here's the backside of part. thank you all for your help!

It is part of the shroud cover for the front of the engine . It covers the belt from the AC , ALT , And power steering pump . Look straight down front of the engine at top of the engine belt and you will see where it will fit .

Is my car safe to drive until this part is back where it belongs? and seriously, THANK YOU !!!

Yes it is just advisable to keep your fingers out of that area of the belt with the engine running. It bolts to the Alt. and PS pump brackets. It covers the belt and stabilizes the two .

I would replace the part before driving. If the belt slips or falls off you will be stranded.
