What about your security system? You talk about new codes, are there any codes at all? What testing have you done? Inactive codes will stay in computer memory, usually for a certain amount of ignition cycles. Can you communicate with computer? Can you force it to set a code?

I don't remember the exact code numbers but I know it was the o2 sensor code for bank 1 and the internal control module memory check. I have changed the o2 sensor and it still says that and the icm memory check. I have tested the fuel pressure and all fuses also had battery tested. I'm not sure if I should try a throttle position sensor next or what?

When the vehicle stalls with key on, is there a security lamp on the dash that stays on or flashing?

I have a 2006 Cobalt. I changed the hole switch Assy. It will start but it shuts off after about 5 sec. Help me if you can Thanks.

2009 Same thing. Code read MAF and catalytic converter. Replaced both and O2 sensors. New battery. Moved some fuses around.... still dies after starting it. Rough idle before it dies.

I found someone that can rebuild ECMs (Engine Control Module) on facebook. He pulled an ECM off of another cobalt and reprogrammed it for mine and it starts and runs fine now. You'll have to do a sequence to reset the computer. I believe you can order a rebuilt ECM now but at the time I had this problem the company had severe hurricane damage.
