do most subaru foresters come with a sunroof?

Joan, looks like the sunroof was a standard feature on this model. See this, http://www.edmunds.com/subaru/forester/2003/st- 100076812/features-specs/ Really depends on the particular model.

The base model does not come with a sun roof. The rest do I believe.

Yes , this correct. I bought my 2005 Subaru and had one installed. It was an aftermarket sunroof. Just recently, my sunroof exploded and now I am looking for the glass to replace. Does anyone know a reputable place to purchase from ? And please not a Subaru parts dealer, this a aftermarket sunroof.

Figure out what brand the sunroof is and contact the manufacturer. You can also contact an auto glass company and see if they can fix it.
