Cv axle to transmission joint

Ok so recently my transmission started to not get
into gear  so found that the RF cv axle connect to
transmission was little out ( don’t know what is call )
but will make a noise  Question is it possible only to
push it in and how

Yes it separated toward out tried pushing it in with hand pressure but won’t go in do I need too hit in hard with something and does it need to line up with teeth or so thanks
