Swapping engines

Asked by sssosborne Apr 12, 2016 at 04:36 PM about the 2003 Subaru Baja AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 02 Forester, manual trans. and an 03 Baja, manual trans.  Both
show a "6" in the VIN for motor type.  I was wondering if the Forester engine
will fit into the Baja? Perfect fit, or are things different?

Good chance, I would probably check the engine codes and date ranges on www.opposedforces.com and see what you find. I could be wrong, but "worst case scenario", long blocks are probably the same and you have to keep the intake and sensor setup from the baja. But check out that site and see what you find. Best regards,
