how do you remove a hardtop from a 1990 convertible

we are trying to remove a hardtop on a 1990 convertible  we have it loose but the one side will not let go there is a cable but it is too tight to pull any suggestions we are also looking for the radio reciever

their should be 2 flip down hinges on each side on front ,under the sun visors,rear has a pull release cable,is possable the cabel release on side that is not releasing is froze up.
