It's always good practice to check front and rear wheel alighnment when fitting new tyres. This ensures that they wear correctly.

Thanks for your input...will take the advice and have rear alignment.

The dealership telling you to align your vehicle with the installation of new tires is mainly an upsell to you to try and get more of your money. Unless you were experiencing a pull or some other concern with the tracking of the vehicle it is not necessary. To the comment about the rear being a necessity to align due to this particular vehicle type is erroneous. You have a fwd vehicle. Unless you ran over a herd of cows and the rear end got annihilated by everyone of them, odds are your rear alignment is still within factory spec. Were you experiencing uneven tire wear (not caused by burnouts, loss of traction or lack or tire rotations)? If that were in fact the case then and only then would i worry about aligning the vehicle.

If you have a FWD vehicle, you should always get a 4-wheel alignment. Why risk your new investment(tires)? It's not scam or a ripoff. Don't be cheap.
