Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car has a mileage of 130000. I checked the fluid levels and looks to be ok. Is it a
transmission problem or something related to the engine. When I bought it nothing of tha t
sound came. But after 2 weeks it came on.

Check the serpentine belt, idler and tensioner. It is possible you have a bad belt or related bearing. Could be other issue as well.

I agree with Bob. You could take the belt off and run the engine briefly to see if the sound goes away. If it does then its belt or belt driven accessory that's at fault. It the sound is still there then I'd probably take it to a transmission shop for a diagnosis and, if its never been done a transmission servicing.

The car is probably depressed. Id sell it before it screams off a cliff with you in it. Peace!
