05 Pontiac Grand Prix will not start no click at starter what would cause this

The car sat for 18 months an was not stated and the battery died I replaced
the battery and the dash cluster lights up  but no click at the starter

You'll have to determine if power is going to the small terminal on the starter solenoid, via test light or voltage meter, when someone is turning the key to the start position. While your down there try tapping on the starter housing with a hammer also. Then we can go from there.
