I have a rubbing/chirping sound coming from the front end of my car

Asked by Bridgette Aug 20, 2015 at 11:08 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The day it started I had to hit my
breaks hard and they locked up and
the car jumped is the best way to
explain it. Then I noticed a grinding
coming from the passenger side. The
next day the grinding stopped and a
rubbing/chirping sound started. Also
when I turn left it makes a grinding
sound also. I put close to 100 miles a
day on my car so I need to kno what
could be causing this to get it fixed
asap before it stops moving.

Sounds like the caliper may have locked on that side of the car. if that is the case replace both brake pads in the front and cut the rotors as well..
