ABS, TC and Brake service lights

Asked by SandVolks79 Jun 03, 2019 at 11:23 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT1

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The service lights for the ABS, TC and
brakes came on all at once when I
started my car... Are my brakes bad or
could it be a sensor of some sort
going bad?

Most likely it is a sensor issue but have it checked and corrected before driving much more. These three systems are related and it is common for the warning lights to come on all at once. It would be prudent to check your brake fluid level if you cannot take the car for servicing quickly. Low fluid will greatly reduce your ability to stop. ABS and TC are not as critical if you are careful.

Thank you, I will do so. When I started my car this morning the lights did not come on, nor did they come on when I left work this afternoon... However, after being home for 1/2 hour and leaving again, the lights came on, very strange/arbitrary.

Sorry, I have no reason for your lights to act up. As long as they come on when you need them, I would give it a few days to see if the problem goes away. Try just changing the light switch position and returning it to the setting you want. Sometimes they just get nudged by a knee when getting in/out of the vehicle.
