2003 Pontaic Grand Prix SE

Asked by Bugg88 Apr 30, 2016 at 09:38 AM about the 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Why is the "ABS" and "Trac Off" light staying on in
my 2003 Pontaic Grand Prix SE? It was just coming
on once in a while but after a year, now it is on as
soon as i start the car up.

Sometimes a bad connection or wire right at the wheel where it connects to a speed sensor can cause this too. I had this once on a Buick and ended up a bad wheel bearing. Bearing wasn't making noise yet, but it was bad enough to screw up the sensor.

Vehicle wheel speed sensor(s) is not reporting back to the computer. You will need a scan to find out which one location, the wiring to the sensor and the sensor itself will need to be checked. Replaced simple service procedure!
