replacing ignition lock cylinder got the cylinder out and now nothing.what am i doing wrong???

when we got the cylinder out we then turned the ignition switch with a screwdriver. we heard the starter for a second but now it does nothing at all

Ok I just have to ask. Why you trying to turn with screw driver and not the new cylinder mech? You not trying to steal this car are you?

the security will not let you start it with a screw driver. you have to put in a factory ignition switch and then reset the security.

you have engage the anti theft system you must reset it or it will not start

Can you take an ignition switch out of a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am and put it in another Grand Am the same year
