I have a over heating problem with my Pontiacgrand prix 2003 I have took off the thermostat and it will run fine bought a new one and put it on and it runs hot, Punt coolant in it and didn't help. what else could it be please help.

Make sure that you have the thermostat installed in the correct direction, and after checking that you have to bleed all of the air out of the cooling system. (a rather lengthy procedure but necessary)

yeah-checklist-thermostat installed with cone side down. no leaks. bleed or burp the system. i recommend flushing it with the heat on before any of this. its cheap and it never hurts. make sure your thermostat is the right temp. prolly 185 or so for your car. make sure its the right coolant or universal. make sure fans are working right. that should be it. if all those things are done you should be ok. if not its time to start thinking gaskets somewhere. and p.s. every grand am or grand prix ive ever seen will run a little warmer than most cars at idle and under heavy load or in the heat. hooe this helps
