I called a friend who owned a 2003 Pontiac GP/GT and he told me that he is sure there was no light indicator to show that the cruise control was on/off. He could tell just by going through the normal steps of turning it on and then setting the desired speed. The cruise control would disengage/resume when he pressed on the brake pedal or the accelerator. It turned off automatically when he set the car in Park or shut engine off. If you have the owners manual read it, it should tell you if your car has a cruise control light indicator.
