Serpentine belt tensioner

I am replacing my alternator how do I loosen the serpentine belt?

Take a 3/8 breaker bar Ans insert it in the reciprocal at the base of the idler arm.

There will be a tensioner pulley that is spring loaded. Put a wrench on the bolt head on the pulley and push or pull to loosen the tension on the belt.
