2001 Pontiac Grand Prix won't start. Bought a new battery and new starter. Starts a few times then won't.

If it sounds like it wants to start then it could be the position sensor. Look for the ignition module in the center-rear of the engine ,,, on the drivers side of the module are 2 small wires going down the back of the engine ... you can unplug it and have someone check it with a meter while cranking the engine .. it should pulse. Sometime the exhaust pipe will melt the insulation. If that's not the problem can you give us more background ?

It starts about 5 times you can drive it, and everything. Then it won't start all it will do is click. All the inside lights will still be have power.
