Do the axle have anything to do with the transmission working

The front drive axles are connected directly to the transmission. The axles have constant velocity (CV) joints on them that allow them to flex and move as you drive and turn the steering wheel. If one of these CV joints comes apart or if an axle comes disconnected altogether it will prevent the vehicle from moving. Hope that helps! Jim
