My 2001 Pontiac GTP just had the parking break light go on while driving. What could possibly be wrong NOW?? Please help!!

There is a switch that is activated when you push or pull on the emergency brake that's switch could be defective

Or the actuator on the brake mechanism is not positioning properly. Do you activate the brake with a foot pedal or an hand "pull stick" between the seats?
