car overheating after replacing thermostat and water pump why

Did you burp all the air out of the system after replacing the items listed? Also how old is your radiator cap? Cap must seal good and be of right psi for vehicle in order for cooling system to work properly.

Did you route the serpentine belt correctly, if the pump turns backwards it won't move the coolant thru the system. Good Luck with it.

Good point, I would hope that the mechanic? that did the work had at least some idea of how and why the thermostat works. Let's hope that Karen gets it fixed before the engine is dead.
