So I was driving my 2001 Grand Prix and it
started to surge and my mpg reader started
showing 0 and was blinking, looking to see if
anyone could help.

Always start with the basics. Scan it for trouble codes and load test the battery. That will usually give you a starting point for further diagnosis.
