Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just had a new radiator installed a month ago, within 2 weeks the low coolant
light started flashing.Took it back to the shop and he checked and didn't see
anything but added maybe a little bit of in the overflow tank.didn't come on
for another week or so,I was sitting in line to pick up grandkids at school and
it did it again,Checked water and it was fine, added a little to overflow and it
stopped again for about a week, now its doing it again!! Anybody know what i
might need to have checked first? I can not afford a new car!!!

Go back to the repair shop and have him do a coolant system pressure test.He should do this for free. Its no big deal. That will find a leak/loose hose clamp etc. I bet your system wasnt "bled" properly.Meaning air pockets are trapped inside the cooling system,as they work theryre way out your level goes down Google this.Your car should have bleeder screws. If not park it "uphill or jack up the nose and run with the cap off. None of this is rocket science. Mechanic should do this for free! You have a situation I call an "Ever since you...."
