97 Grand Prix GT & GTP

Asked by RJ31298 Jul 26, 2017 at 11:48 AM about the 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix 2 Dr GTP Supercharged Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I currently have a totaled 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix
GTP still runs, still drives, frame is just bent beyond
repair. I am looking into a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix
GT. I was wondering if you could simply lift the front
end of the GTP, unhook and unbolt everything, and
then pull it out and put it into the GT body. How
difficult/time consuming/costly would this be? Any
insight would be greatly appreciated.

It can be done but it won't be all that simple. You will also need the two stage fuel pump an all the wiring. Also the GT suspension could be different. I'm not a fan of making a car when you can just buy one already made, especially if you need to be able to drive it any time soon.
