What causes a trans to shift hard when hot?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I normally have no problem with my transmission, but when I've driven it for more than say an hour or so, it starts shifting hard and seems to be a lot higher rpm before the shift as well.   Did a full flush on the fluid lately and no change at all.  Ideas?

I figured it out myself finally. It turned out to be the pressure control solenoid inside the transmission. Turns out this is a common problem with these.
