Where could I get a shift kit installed in a pontiac
gtp and do I need a appointment?

Call a local transmission shop. As for appointments, that's something you'll need to ask them. We tell our customers to drop the car off for the day whenever I need to do transmission or engine repairs and a shift kit is probably not something you're gonna wanna sit in the waiting room and wait for them to do.
