What the parts that hold the hood up

I closed the hood an pliers were under
there and it broke whatever holds the
hood up automatically

pneumatic pistons or nothing but hinges and a hook. You can buy new OR you can save some money by going to the auto yard and removing from the same make/model/year vehicle as yours. It really isn't a difficult job to do, but you will get dirty.
