I have a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix. It shifts into every gear but tranny won't go out of park.

I checked the linkage it's all good someone said it might be a pin in the
transmission pan or the solinoid in the transmission pan. Any one??

Confused? If it won't get out of park how do you get it into other gears?

I'm not trans guy, but in ones took apart there is usually a pin that engages for park. If that's the case I don't believe there's an easy way to fix it...sorry! That being said call a few trans places tell them whats going on and see what they say, how much to fix, etc, but make sure u trust them. Because of age of car it may not be worth to rebuild. Maybe swap with junkyard trans but than you don't know what u get. Wait and see what other guru guys say?
