93 pontiac grand prix won't stay running

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car starts up most of the time but dies out
very quickly. It tries to stay running but cant. Fuel
pump, fuel filter are fine and changed. ALternator is
working correctly. There seems to be a oil leak but i
have been told a million different answers. If we
spray carburetor cleaner in the throttle it stays
running and are able to rev it up. Without it i can't
even touch the gas. There's alot of oil around the
oil pan on the undercarriage of the car. Please
help. It was running fine. Excellent even then all of
a sudden i stopped at a stop sign and went to go
forward and it died. Won't stay running for more
then 10-30 seconds. 30 being absolute best
without throttle being sprayed.

Scan if for whatever trouble codes you can get off it. Double check the fuel pressure to make sure its really getting fuel. Even though you've changed the fuel pump is sounds like some sort of a fuel issue to me.

Could also be the ECM or other ignition part on a car that old. Does the problem get any better when the car is up to temp?
