how to disable traction control on a 04 pontiac grand am?
1 Answer
Trying to do burnouts? Try pulling the abs fuses and relays. If there is no button for it the only way is to disable the abs because the wheel speed sensors for the abs are what not only tell the car that one or more wheels are locked up on stopping but also tell the car the front wheels are spinning faster than the rear. Then the system realises there must be a traction issue so in an attempt to reduce power to the wheels to gain traction the car may shift into second to reduce power to the wheels or cut back on the amount of fuel going to the engine.
