Half tank issues

Asked by adelapena775 Jul 11, 2018 at 08:47 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Grand Am SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 04 grand am 3.4 v6: Whenever i get to around half a tank of gas.
The car will act like there's not enough fuel going to the engine. At around
1/4 tank it will die as if it's out of gas. I would turn car off and and start it back
up again. It will start up like nothing but have continued acceleration issues
until i fill up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Ive replaced the :
fuel pump
fuel filter
fuel pressure regulator
spark plugs
and wireset.

Did you check and make sure the hose clamps for the fuel pump didnt come loose allowing pump to suck air around hoses inside tank when tank gets below these connections.

I haven't yet, this model doesnt have a hatch to get to the fuel pump. So I'll have to drop the the fuel tank. Thank you though, I will check it out when I do so, I was just hoping there was something I can do top side.
