Belt could be the squealing. Did you change the battery after changing the alternator? If not you could have an alternator trying too hard to run car and charge a too low battery. This is important to change or completely charge battery at the time of starting car after an alternator change. You can ruin new alternator with this scenario. Completely charge is by industry standard 28 hour slow charge provided old alternator didn’t render it bad like a dead cell or two.

Car dying could also be something not related to battery and alternator. Crankshaft or camshaft sensor? Weak or dead fuel pump? Many possibilities
