why did my dash and driving lights go out when trying to hook up after market stero

i was hooking up aftermarket stero and now my dash and driving lights are dead and the
stero is dead to but all the other lights work break lights work head lights work dome
lights work

You have a short, or you hook the wrong wire up...you need to get the wiring diagram..

i have bought the book i have down loaded diagrams off the web i have tried everthing and i would not know were to start to find the short
