Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Blue smoke, engine choking at time it happened.  Has needed oil added more lately

The check engine light never comes on, only the oil light when it is really low on oil. Sounds expensive...

I was afraid of that. For 15 years it has been a great little car and I am surprised it would need a new motor with 102,000 kilometres on it. A couple years ago, mechanics doing a tune-up told me they were impressed by the shape of this vehicle and it was like a 3 year old car. Hmmmmmmm! Never know do we. Thanks everyone.

My car lasted 15 years and I thought I took care of it pretty well. I always followed the maintenance instructions, changed oil when needed and filters and fuel filter, cleaned air cleaner, flushed this and that, tuneups.
