spewing oil from back of motor

Check your valve cover first.Get under the car and look for any leaks coming from the oil pan.Check the oil plug see if it's tight .Look around the crank pulley if you have a leak there you probly need new seal ...

It could be the oil pressure sending unit. It's a common Grand Am problem. Look for something screwed into the engine with a wire attached to it.
