Why does my 4 cyl 1997 Grand Am hesitate to go when engine is warm?

Asked by Jennifer Nov 01, 2013 at 08:35 PM about the 1997 Pontiac Grand Am 2 Dr SE Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Sputtering like it wants to stall and sometimes it does. Seems like more when stopping
and going around town. Service engine light was on. Replaced catalytic converter and
whole exhaust, 2 sensors. Waiting to see if the light stays off. I thought the  replaced
exhaust would fix the problem. Replaced fuel filter about a year ago. Just replaced spark
plugs and it still hesitates when I give it gas. I have used the fuel injector cleaner but it
still acts up. Please help!

These have an idle air control difficulty....have someone pull it off and clean it~ I suspect the intake air temp sensor~....
