2.3L 4 cyl.doch troubleshooting wont start

Is there a red security light flashing in the dash when you turn the key on that doesn't go out with the other lights. Have to do process of elimination, 1st thing is there spark at the plugs, if so good. 2nd can you hear the fuel pump pumping gas to the engine. I mentioned the security light cause I had a 94 lesabre that did this which kept it from starting and I had to bypass the security system all because of a worn out key that the computer that someone was trying to steal it.
