Car not accelerating in drive

Asked by GuruWSYVW May 05, 2018 at 07:01 PM about the 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport XLS 4WD

My mitshibishi Pajero 02 while driving just stop
accelerating and would not move...I continued to
shut off the engine and restart but it still would not
move... It eventually moved when I shift it from D to
3rd gear...what could be the problem here?

I also have this problem with same year model if you find out what the problem is I would also love to know please

Could be a fuel pump, Mass airflow system, Throttle pressure sensor, i’m having a cyclinder 4 misfire so I was thinking it would possibly be a Spark plug problem or something related.
