P0510 code

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had a oil leak in valve covers, fixed gaskets, but
had to replace egr valve and throttle air control
valve. Still wouldn't pass smog, because of P510
code, closed throttle body. What more can I do?

TPS code throttle position sensor..test it with a DVOM make sure there isn't a glitch in the "sweep" of the sensor.

P0510 MITSUBISHI - Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Switch Circuit...Possible causes; Accelerator Pedal Position (APP), Switch harness is open or shorted, Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Switch circuit poor electrical circuit, Faulty Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Switch...... Possible symptoms Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) Engine idle problems Possible hard to start Possible shifting problems.

May need a new gas peddle. Your vehicle may be what they call a "drive by wire" . No cable going to the throttle body. Thats what I'm getting out of this code.
