My 200 montero sport is leaking transmission fluid. Is this serious?

Transmission is leaking fluid. Is this a serious problem?

It depends where the leak is coming from. Take it to a shop for a free estimate, if it's something minor, have them take care of it.

It's bad if you let it run low on ATF and continue driving it. Find the leak and get it fixed. It might just be something minor like a trans cooler line fitting or pan gasket or seal.
