Breaks: Metal Clips

Asked by JKLawson89 Jun 28, 2018 at 11:57 AM about the 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Ultimate

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Changed all 4 wheels breaks and rotors brand new
a year ago, came with these metal clips, I put the
clips on like they were on from factory. Realized
over time hearing a high pitch squeal was from
metal clips wiggling out and hitting rotor. I thought
they sent me defective clips so I bought brand new
ones again from AutoZone and replaced. Still
having the problem. High pitch scream when
breaking or weet weet weet sound when hanging a
left around a curve. Any suggestions? Ideas? Do I
need the clips, the brakes slide on them in
guessing...? Thanks. Photo will be of stock parts
from autozone.

Can you send a pic of how the clips are installed ? Can give you a better answer if I can see how they are installed.
