Smell and over heating

Yesterday I was running the a.c. it started
having a smell coming out of the vent
smelled like coolant then this morning got of
hwy and car over heated wat could be
causing this wat should I do

Sounds like your heater core you will have to change it its not to hardyoutube show a step by step video

I have done heater core replacement on several mercury and ford crown vics I would make sure cooling fan are working its a terrible job dash has be removed from car its not easy unless coolant all over floor passenger side don't mess with it

I agree with last answer. It is a biiig headache to get to the heater core.
