Disconnect the battery cables, disconnect the wiring at the starter, unbolt the starter, remove the starter. To reinstall the starter reverse the procedure. Starter is located on the passenger side bottom rear of the engine. Make certain you disconnect the battery cable first and reinstall the battery cable last.

The problem is getting to the third bolt. After many frustrating hours I took 30 minutes to remove the fan shroud and fan. Now I had clear access to the third bolt from the front of the engine looking back while lying on my back. A few socket extensions did the job on my 93 Crown Vic. My 99 Grand Marques only has 60000 miles so no problem for now.
