Could be loose vacuum line or faulty brake pedal switch.

Very Tough, sometimes it's the slip rings under the steering wheel. Air bag and wheel have to be pulled, to check. Also, check fuses, but I doubt that will be it.
The cruise control will activate by itself at random..!!!
