What kind of remote do you have? Is the remote start part of the factory 4 button remote?

I suspect that the remote start is an add on. The most common dealer add on remote start kit is from code alarm, depending on the specific model start kit there are several ways to program it and places it would be tied into the vehicle. You may be able to find a local alarm specialist that can help pin it down.
