Clean up the battery terminals by removing them and using a wire brush made for the job, cleaning out the inside of the connector and the outside of the battery post. Have the battery tested, replaced or recharged (don't try to charge a dead battery with the alternator - it's real hard on the alternator). You may have a simple case of "Black-Post" and just need to clean things up. Another condition that comes to mind is a battery that is shorting out internally. Usually, the gauges go crazy because of the low battery and the starter relay buzzing. Once you get it going, have the charging system checked.

Tried that yesterday. It still dont start. The battery is good and alternator in good. Then I get it started and when it's runs good for like a month then it starts doing it again. It's almost like something is grounding out

the clicking your hearing when car is shut off is different modules activating due to low voltage,as tracy said have the charging system checked for load and draws, most common problem with that model is the voltage regulator staying powered up drawing battery down, hope this helps

I forgot about the regulator that never quits and I see it a couple of times a month. Duh!

It's not the voltage regulator either. I'm gettin power to my car. U turn key and it does nothing now. Turn key backwards and it clicks like in the dash.

heather, unfortuanetly, your gonna have to take it to get checked out, there are several things that can draw down your battery, glove box lite, trunk lite, even one of the modules staying powered all the time, like a gem module, there is also a battery saver relay that could be sticking, a reputabale shop should be more than capable of isolating your concern, hope this helps, good luck keep us informed.

How could you know that it's not the voltage regulator if you can't start the car? All the voltage regulator does is operate the Alternator output depending on the needs of the car and the battery. Go get it checked out. I don't think you know much about charging systems.

Clean the battery terminals? Obviously, there is no power coming from the battery. Do a voltage and load test of the battery - charge it if it's low (don't try to let the alternator charge it - tou can ruin a good alternator that way) check the positive and negative cables at their posts and connecting points (block and starter), and check the alternator output. There's nothing else! These days, you're lucky to get 2 years out of a battery. You can also do a voltage drop test across the battery cables and main alternator to battery cable.

I am seeing similar on my 2002 TC. The dash lights up, Headlights are on. Turn to start, dash lights all go dark, but headlights stay on. No solenoid click or anything. Power on the battery is good, fully charged.

most likely its the positive battery cable needs to be replaced because the fusible links are shorting out the electrical system you can move the two wires that go to the black terminal box on the r side fender to get it going but the cable as an assembly has to be re4placed
