i have a 2001 lincoln towncar and the battery is a yr old it wouldnt start today it just was making a clicking sound then it went dead but then l got it jumpstarted and it work is it the battery??

have the same prob, 91 EATS batteries, NOTHING is left on, cable ends replaced, took out leaky air lift, which was making pump turn off and on. With a jump, car starts right away, runs great, full power, head lights bright, so not thinking alternator..got me totally baffled...
